She is committed to supporting increased mastery for students of Constellations, and for her entire career she has been passionate about how mentored practice supports personal and professional growth. She is also passionate about her adopted home, California, and is delighted to be organizing this intensive in a place that shares the best of the natural beauty of this region. More information about her, her trainings, and her nature photography, can be found at www.conviviumconstellations.com.
She is the author of the new book Your Resonant Self: Guided Meditations and Exercises to Engage Your Brain’s Capacity for Healing, published by Norton Publishing in September, 2017. It is an experiential exploration of the world of relational neuroscience. She teaches and lectures internationally, is a regular contributor to The Knowing Field, was the author of a chapter for Stephan Hausner’s book Salutogene Aufstellungen (Healing Sentences), and is an annual guest speaker and teacher at the Bernried Intensive in Germany.
She and her students have developed the integration of representing the brain and the nervous system—in particular, emotions researcher Jaak Panksepp’s circuits—into constellation work. This innovative and powerful approach allows the disentanglement and mobilization of pathways of feeling and living that have been compromised and paralyzed by trauma.
Dyrian is an adjunct faculty at Antioch University and Pacifica Graduate Institute. He helped create the Somatic Psychology MA and PhD Programs at the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute, as well as the Embodied Psychology program at Esalen. He works individually with clients. He is the author of To The Core of Your Experience about mindfulness in Hakomi psychotherapy. In addition, he is the founder of GroupField, a systems based method for improving the harmony of groups and teams and co-founder of the Hakomi Institute, where he taught and practiced for over 30 years.
JoAnne has been in private practice since 1980. She is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with a specialty in trauma that focuses on developmental and attachment disruptions. Since 1992, JoAnne has been a student of the Diamond Approach by A.H. Almaas, which combines western depth psychology with eastern traditions. She integrates the concepts and insights of that method into her therapeutic approach.
Together, JoAnne and Dyrian train in a style of family constellations work they created and call Relational Constellations. This approach is influenced by Somatic Psychology, Somatic Experiencing Trauma Work, Internal Family Systems, as well as the Diamond Heart Approach.
