Meet the 2019 Faculty
Sarah Peyton is an international facilitator and trainer of Family Constellations. Her specialty is the integration of resonant and precise language together with constellation experiences and an understanding of relational neuroscience in order to heal trauma and resolve blocks to human expression and creativity.
She is the author of the new book Your Resonant Self: Guided Meditations and Exercises to Engage Your Brain’s Capacity for Healing, published by Norton Publishing in September, 2017. It is an experiential exploration of the world of relational neuroscience. She teaches and lectures internationally, is a regular contributor to The Knowing Field, was the author of a chapter for Stephan Hausner’s book Salutogene Aufstellungen (Healing Sentences), and is an annual guest speaker and teacher at the Bernried Intensive in Germany.
She and her students have developed the integration of representing the brain and the nervous system—in particular, emotions researcher Jaak Panksepp’s circuits—into constellation work. This innovative and powerful approach allows the disentanglement and mobilization of pathways of feeling and living that have been compromised and paralyzed by trauma.
For more than 20 years, Peter deVries has been a principal teacher of the Family Constellation approach. Born in the Netherlands and educated in Europe, Peter has studied psychology and its many aspects with his formal training in the Constellation approach with Victoria Schnabel.
Peter is also trained in Somatic Experiencing as well as, extensive training and experience in Hakomi and Internal Family Systems giving him a unique view into the workings of systemic and intergenerational trauma.
He has worked closely with Gabrielle Borkan and Joseph Culp to develop “single representation” and the unilocal “Walking in your Shoes” (WIYS) embodiment practice. He has made a particular study of working with constellations in the individual context over the last 10 years.
His work also incorporates practical tools from the Diamond Approach of Almaas, IFS Internal Family Systems of Richard Schwartz and Authentic Movement.
Peter is a counselor and mediator for individuals, couples and families. He also leads workshops and trainings throughout the U.S., Europe and the Caribbean. Peter maintains a private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area and is the founder of ConstellationWorks since 2001.
Suzi Tucker maintains an active private practice, teaching, and workshop schedule that includes serving as guest faculty at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, and the New York Open Center.
Her first encounter with Family Constellations was in her capacity as a psychology publisher in 1998. Before long, Suzi was deeply involved in putting together Love’s Hidden Symmetry, Bert Hellinger’s first core book, which was published by Zeig, Tucker & Theisen, Inc.
Suzi went on to work with Hellinger for some 15 years on the majority of his books published in English, including having written the foreword for his 2014 Looking Into the Souls of Children. Along the way, she and family therapist, Harald Hohnen, established the first trainings in the United States under Hellinger’s guidance.
Over the years, Suzi’s teaching continues to evolve as she seeks to steer clear of dogma even under the name of Family Constellations and instead breathe in the brilliance of multiple intelligences, traditions, and ways in the world. Suzi is author of Gather Enough Fireflies (2014), a contributor to numerous books and journals, most recently to One Person at a Time (2018), and she is currently at work on several manuscripts, including a book of essays and a facilitation workbook.
Meet the Staff
The Rev. Leslie Nipps, MDiv, is the founder of Convivium Constellations, and is a Systemic Constellations and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner and trainer in Oakland, CA, USA. With James Woeber, she directed the 2015 North American Systemic Constellations Conference in San Diego, CA, USA. She also presented at the 2011 and 2013 conferences. She was a founding board director of North American Systemic Constellations (NASC), and is a highlighted presenter at the conference in Virginia Beach in October, 2017. She is a workshop presenter at the Australasian Constellations Intensive in Sydney, Australia in March, 2018. She is a regular contributor to the professional journal of Constellations, The Knowing Field. She has also been an Episcopal minister for over twenty years.
She is committed to supporting increased mastery for students of Constellations, and for her entire career she has been passionate about how mentored practice supports personal and professional growth. She is also passionate about her adopted home, California, and is delighted to be organizing this intensive in a place that shares the best of the natural beauty of this region. More information about her, her trainings, and her nature photography, can be found at www.conviviumconstellations.com.
Peter Touchard’s main passion is to help people to recognize their inherent ability to create, change, grow and heal. He does this by helping his clients access the deeper parts of themselves, using Systemic Constellation work and Neuro-Linguistic Programing, and by sharing what he’s learned from indigenous wisdom traditions over his 7+ years of personal experience with those ways. By remembering our deeper connections to our inherent wisdom, we become more conscious agents of change in our own lives.
Peter is also a fan of logistics, organization and (of course) helping people, which is why he’s happy to be the registrar of the upcoming West Coast Intensive! He also volunteered with the 2015 North American Systemic Constellations Conference, which ignited his desire to help bring an awareness of this Constellation work out to the masses.
You can see more about Peter’s San Francisco-based practice via his website www.petertouchard.com.
Josh Alexander wears many hats—longtime massage therapist, web developer & designer, and Systemic Constellations & Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner.
He provided tech & web development support to the 2015 North American Systemic Constellations Conference in San Diego, CA, USA, the 2017 & 2018 West Coast Constellations Intensive, and is happy to be helping this year’s West Coast Intensive a successful event.
